High School Students Working As Scientists Work CD

The online course, "High School Students Working as Scientists Work," is available on CD for professional development providers working in school districts or in regional education centers. Professional development programs can offer the seminar in four possible ways:
  • The content of the CD can transfer to a Web site. With the addition of a Web-based discussion board, the seminar can be offered completely online asynchronously.
  • The content of the CD can transfer to a Web site and be read asynchronously. However, participants can be convened face-to-face or via live Web-conference for discussion of the assignments.
  • Participants can meet face-to-face but receive their own copies of the CD to use as the text for the seminar.
  • Individual teachers can use the CD.

To simulate discussions of the assignments, excerpts of prior conversations are included. A professional development provider should be available in each instance, however, as a facilitator.
